Real World Experience

The School of Communication, Media and The Arts encourages all Media Studies and Digital Communication majors to experience at least one internship before they graduate, and many majors complete two or three. Not only do students gain valuable experience but they receive academic credit for their internship learning experiences. In addition to completing internships at top corporate media outlets, some students choose to focus on community outreach and teacher training opportunities depending on their career goals and personal interests.

Not only did I get to have a full conversation with Camila Cabello, but Elvis Duran and my supervisor both knew that I’m a huge fan and unexpectedly called me into the studio to talk to her on air. It was an experience I will never forget! – Alexa Bianchi, Radio Intern for Elvis Duran's Morning Show

My boss’s work ethic and relentless pursuit of perfection motivated me to be on top of my game every day. I wrote numerous recaps for the Boulders during the season. It was a dream come true for me. – Ryan Touhey, PR Intern for Rockland Boulders
